Dr Ian Carr-Boyd runs a General Medical Practice in its fullest sense - spanning all ages, from babies, children, teenagers, through to young and middle-aged adults and seniors.
Ian's home-based Katoomba practice is set in an unhurried environment, but with all the essential requirements of a modern medical practice, including waiting and consulting rooms. He allows for at least 20-minute appointments (and longer, if required, recognising in particular the inevitable complexities arising as we age), to ensure sufficient time to listen to his clients and to give full consideration to their individual needs.
Ian works closely with an experienced counsellor at his Katoomba practice, Dawn Mears, Mental Health Nurse and Psychotherapist.
In addition to health consultations, the following services are offered:
- Antenatal and postnatal care, including referrals to HomeBirth Midwives
- Cervical Screening tests (formerly known as Pap smears)
- Health checks (from newborns through to seniors)
- Medical examinations
- Workers compensation (WorkCover) consultations
- Travel vaccinations and advice
- Skin checks
- Counselling
- Mental health referrals to psychologists, counsellors including PTS (formerly ATAPS)
- Enhanced primary care referrals to podiatrists, physiotherapists, dieticians, chiropractors and others
Hours:
Dr Ian Carr-Boyd is available at his Katoomba practice on Monday all day, Tuesday afternoon, Thursday morning and Friday morning. He is available at Balance Family Practice in Springwood on Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon.
Fees:
- Bulk-billing is available for Pensioners, Veterans Affairs, HealthCare card holders and Children under 16 years
- Fees - $80 for 20 mins (longer consultations incur additional fees, which are offset by the Medicare rebate)
- Payment may be made by cash, cheque or card (excluding Diners)
- Medicare Rebates are immediately redeemable via EFTPOS into your account >>
